Sea Levels

An article published recently in the journal “Nature Climate Change”, warns of future costs of rising sea levels on coastal cities. Vancouver is mentioned as being one of the most at risk cities.

The article predicts sea levels will rise  0.2-0.4 meters by 2050 because of melting ice sheets. Areas under sea level such as Richmond are at risk. Houses and areas near the shore only need the water to rise a little bit before they are flooded. The potential property damage is significant! Vancouver will have to make plans on protecting itself from rising sea levels.
